The officers and representatives seek to understand students’ thoughts and desires and provide feedback on any proposed or existing activity ideas, convey them to the Council and advisors. Officers and representatives provide a voice for students. Being a member of the SMS Student Council means being willing to put in the long hours required to make something happen: executing an event, making registration documents, posters, or SMS News commercials, being a Student Ambassador at Open House or Parent/Teacher Conferences, community service or being a facilitator at Student Council events. As a whole, the Council works to foster a sense of school spirit by leading initiatives and conducting events that bring the Suffield Middle community together. The Council strives to understand, embody, and communicate the values that define our middle school.
